Freight to Plate® is recognized as the first ever container farm operator in Chicago, Illinois and presently serves nonprofits and for profit organizations alike to help bring hyperlocal food solutions to all community types through controlled environment agriculture technology and complete system integration.

  • A standard 40 ft. container retrofitted with a hydroponic farming system is equivalent to 2.5 acres of traditional soil farm land and will yield up to 4-8 tons of produce per year. Integrated technology makes growing year round in any climate a possibility.

    Site Requirements

    -50’ x 10’ flat, unobstructed plot is required

    - Site surface must support 8-ton gross weight

    - Requires a 200 amp main breaker

    -240 volt AC split-phase

    - WI-FI access is necessary

    - Access to 200 gallons of water

    - Standard 3/4 in GHT thread spigots for filling
